This garden totem was inspired by the beautiful Laura Ashley vase (turned upside down) found at a local thrift store. I'd had this vase for several months just waiting for the right pieces to design a totem. I was so happy when I found the sweet teapot shown here. With the vase and teapot I knew I had my design and this is the finished piece. Hard to believe this totem was created from other's "trash". It really does bring me joy to transform unwanted objects into things of beauty.

I love the Fiesta Chicken Garden Stake because I've gotten so attached to my chickens, that I have started collecting all things chicken and rooster. Mary I enjoyed browsing them. I am going to try my hand with a few things around the house, however I have a few problems. I want to use a small minature statue. Do you ever use anything to seal some of these peices, if maybe you painted it. It seems like some of those pieces are painted, but maybe not. Those are my favorite kind of teapots and you do them so well. Any way If I go ahead and use the statue outside I will have to seal it somehow. If meant to be inside, I will have to design different. Do you have any medium to suggest. Otherwise, I'll just browse till I find my answer. If I use it inside, I'll have to have a wide bottom. I don't see any very narrow rims such as size of pop bottle or small vase with wide pieces on top. Do you paint anything for these? Thanks for the inspiration. You have a fun job for sure. If I had to pick a favorite, for some reason I'd pick the rooster. Thanks for your time. [ I am at sunnyside blog, but I am on facebook and I can just check back here.
